The Disposable Sterile Glove for Your Cleanroom Camera
An EtO-sterilized disposable barrier for Solo MediCam and Orbit MediCam in clinical and sterile compounding environments.
MediGuard is a specially designed imaging sleeve that covers your MediCam during cleanroom documentation workflows, helping create a protective barrier between the camera and the surrounding environment.
Its advanced materials are designed to support light transmission, visibility, control access, cable connectivity, and airflow — while serving as a proven microbial barrier during clinical documentation workflows.
Designed for Daily Replacement.
MediGuard is disposable by design and is not intended to be sprayed, wiped, disinfected, reprocessed, or reused as a substitute for replacement. A fresh sleeve every day helps simplify turnover, reduce direct contact with camera surfaces, and avoid repeatedly cleaning or reusing the same protective cover. This disposable-use approach helps simplify cleanroom camera handling while supporting facility compliance procedures during clinical documentation workflows.*

MediCam brings high-resolution visual documentation into sterile compounding and clinical environments. MediGuard helps support cleaner documentation workflows by covering the camera with an EtO-sterilized disposable barrier sleeve.
MediGuard is designed to be applied before use, removed according to facility protocol, and replaced with a fresh sleeve — reducing direct contact with camera surfaces, buttons, seams, and crevices during use.
Engineered for Clinical Workflows
Every part of MediGuard is engineered around how MediCam functions in clinical and sterile compounding workflows: clear imaging, LED light transmission, airflow, heat dissipation, and disposable barrier coverage.
Breathable Where It Matters. Protective Where It Counts.
MediGuard’s breathable rear material is engineered to let the camera breathe while providing disposable barrier coverage around the device.
Airflow through the rear panel supports heat dissipation during use, helping reduce the risk of heat buildup that can occur with a sealed plastic bag or generic non-breathable cover.
Meanwhile, the material acts as a highly effective microbial barrier, retaining over 99.5% of bacterial spores in laboratory testing.
High-Clarity Optics for Critical Documentation
The molded clear face cover is made from high-clarity optical material designed specifically for the MediCam lens module, helping preserve crisp, detailed image quality while MediGuard is in place.
Unlike a loose plastic sleeve or generic cover, MediGuard’s molded lens cover sits cleanly over the camera face plate to help minimize distortion, haze, glare, and image softening.
The transparent front material also allows MediCam’s built-in LED lights to pass through and illuminate the capture area while preserving visibility and control access.
Fits Solo MediCam and Orbit MediCam
MediGuard is compatible with both HoverCam Solo MediCam and Orbit MediCam.
It can be used with MediCam whether the camera is mounted or freestanding. When replacing MediGuard, remove the camera from the mount first, apply the new sleeve, secure the molded lens cover, and return the camera to the mount.
The ROI of a Daily Disposable Sleeve*
While HoverCam hardware is tested to withstand exposure to common hospital disinfectants, including Sani-Cloth®, Peridox RTU®, and CaviCide™, high-frequency liquid sanitization can add cumulative handling, contact, and chemical exposure over time. Deploying MediGuard may help extend the service life of your capital equipment and reduce routine handling time by placing a disposable barrier between the camera and the clinical workflow.*
| Operational Factor | Standard Camera Wiping Protocols | The MediGuard Advantage ($8/Day) |
|---|---|---|
| Long-Term Hardware Protection |
• Crevice Migration: Intricate gaps around buttons, adjustment pivots, hinges, connection edges, and screw holes can draw in moisture through routine handling and repeated liquid exposure. • Internal Electronics Protection: Over extended periods of high-frequency use, trapped chemical dampness may migrate toward internal circuit boards, creating avoidable exposure around sensitive electronic components. • Optical Preservation: Repeated liquid exposure and manual wiping can gradually introduce film, haze, or surface wear that may affect captured pharmacy validation images over time. |
MediGuard helps place a disposable barrier between the clinical workflow and the camera body, helping reduce direct fluid contact, crevice exposure, and physical wiping friction during routine use. |
| Compounding Labor Efficiency | Pharmacy technicians must spend valuable time carefully detailing hinges, button edges, cable paths, and crevices while trying to support facility line clearance and documentation standards. | Technicians can remove the spent sleeve at the end of a batch or shift, discard it, and deploy a fresh, pre-sterilized barrier in under 30 seconds, helping reduce routine cleanroom handling time.* |
| Audit Documentation Support | Documenting consistent cleaning and handling practices for intricate electronic devices with buttons, hinges, cable ports, and internal crevices can create an ongoing compliance variable. | A visible, replaceable, EtO-sterilized disposable sleeve can support facility protocols for covered equipment use, replacement, and workflow documentation.* |

*Use, replacement, and compliance disclaimer: MediGuard™ is a disposable barrier sleeve intended to supplement, not replace, facility-required cleaning, disinfection, aseptic handling, garbing, line clearance, and USP <797>, USP <800>, OSHA, state board of pharmacy, institutional, or other applicable protocols. HoverCam recommends daily replacement as a maximum routine deployment interval only. MediGuard should be replaced earlier whenever facility protocol requires replacement or whenever contamination-control procedures would otherwise require cleaning, disinfection, sanitization, line clearance, sleeve removal, or equipment handling. Replace immediately if MediGuard is visibly contaminated, exposed to a spill, torn, punctured, damaged, improperly sealed, removed from the camera, transferred between controlled areas, or if barrier integrity may be compromised. MediGuard is not intended to be sprayed, wiped, disinfected, sterilized, reprocessed, or reused as a substitute for replacement. Facilities remain responsible for determining appropriate use, replacement frequency, documentation, and validation within their own controlled environments.
